How do you connect Google Sheets to Windsurf?

Add a Google Sheets MCP server to Windsurf's MCP config and Cascade can query your spreadsheet while you work. Windsurf supports MCP natively, so the whole job is pasting one URL. PasteSheet produces that URL from a pasted Google Sheet link — no Google Cloud project, no local server.

This is most useful when the data you need mid-task lives in a sheet rather than the repo: seed data, copy, feature flags, a product catalog, a pricing table.

Add the server

Open Windsurf's MCP settings and add the server, or edit the config directly. Paste the MCP URL from your endpoint's Connect via MCP panel:

Private sheets

For a private endpoint, send the key as a bearer token — Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY. Want one connector covering every sheet you own instead of one per sheet? Use the workspace server at https://pastesheet.com/mcp with an account key or OAuth.

What it costs

MCP is included on the Free plan. Connect any public endpoint over MCP with no Google Cloud project and no credit card. Private endpoints and the account-wide workspace server need a paid plan (from Starter ($9/mo)) for the keys and OAuth they authenticate with.

Pro adds full-text search and aggregation (count, sum, avg, group_by) that your AI agent can call through query_rows.
